If you are like me, then you are also having to deal one of the most annoying things which is having a small apartment. But luckily, I love finding ways to make my space less small and trying to make this space bigger than it actually is.

Here are some tips and tricks and decor that have helped me make my small apartment bigger and I know will get you rolling with making your small apartment look bigger.

Small Apartment Decor Ideas

& Tips and tricks that will work for you!!!

Don’t buy too much furniture

Nothing will make your home look smaller than a bunch of large objects, so don’t go crazy with acquiring a lot of furniture. Instead, focus on the basics: A couch and coffee table are probably all you need for the living room, and even those can be swapped out if they don’t work well with your space (or if you just decide that you want to go minimalist). For bedrooms, think about how much space you actually need and buy only what fits there—you might find that no bed is required at all! Don’t forget about storage either; cabinets are great for storing clothes and other items that take up precious square footage in an apartment.

Use mirrors to open up space.

Use mirrors to open up space. Mirrors are a great way to make a small room appear larger and more spacious. Place them along the walls, above furniture, or even hang them high enough that they reflect light off of the ceiling.

WANT A SIMILAR MIRROR TO THIS:

All I can say is woooowwwww ! This mirror is not only affordable, but the quality is amazing. It’s heavy and not cheap looking. The gold color is not so tacky, and it’s done just right. My main concern was receiving a broken mirror but packaging was great and arrived in one piece. Don’t hesitate buying this gem, you need it !

Go for multipurpose furniture

Multipurpose furniture can be an essential part of decorating a small apartment, as it saves space and money, while also making the most of your living area. A few good examples include:

Tip 1:

  • Coffee table with storage—this type of product is perfect because it serves as a storage unit for things like magazines or remotes, but it doesn’t take up floor space when not in use. It’s also great if you like to read on your couch!

Tip 2:

  • Corner sofa—a corner sofa isn’t just versatile in terms of being able to fit into many types of spaces; they come in all kinds of different styles so there are plenty options available if you want something modern or traditional looking (or anything else!).

Tip 3:

  • Storage ottoman—these pieces typically have one side that opens up to reveal lots of room inside where you can store blankets and other items right under your feet while sitting on the couch watching TV at night time!

Use light colors for paint or wallpaper

As with most things in life, the simplest tricks are often the most effective. Paint and wallpaper or simple decor can be a great way to add some much-needed color and personality to your apartment, but you may want to consider using lighter shades rather than darker ones. Light paint tones tend to make a room appear larger than it is, while dark colors will make it look smaller (and who wants that?).

Take advantage of your windows

When it comes to small apartments, one of the best ways to make them feel larger is by maximizing the space in your home. The way that you can do this is by taking advantage of your windows and skylights. This can be done through things like curtains and blinds, window boxes and planters, mirrors or even a skylight. In other words, using these features will help you create more open spaces within the room while also giving off an airy feel!

Use rugs to define the space you have

Rugs are a great way to define the space you have. They help define the space and make it feel more welcoming.

Use slim furniture for small spaces

A tall, thin sofa or chair will make your space look taller. This is particularly good for a small apartment where you don’t have much room to play around with. You can also use different sizes and heights of tables and shelves – all at different levels – to give the room more depth and make it look larger.

Get wall-mounted storage shelves

If you have a small apartment, you can use wall-mounted storage units to store things. You can also use shelves. Shelves are great for displaying your favorite items and accessories.

Always go for a lightweight Curtains

Lightweight curtains, shades and blinds are always a better option than heavy and dark ones. They allow more light into the room and make it look bigger in size. You can use bright colors for your lightweight curtains, shades and blinds which will make them look bolder. Lightweight curtains are easier to clean as compared to heavyweight ones because they don’t hold much dust or dirt on them because of their smooth texture. Lightweight curtains also do not get damaged easily when you wash them with water because of their smooth texture which makes it easy for you to change your hairstyle every day without worrying about getting holes on your fabrics due to frequent washing process!

Add plants & make your living area ALIVE!

Plants add life to a room and help you feel good! They also help clean the air, reduce stress, improve your mood and sleep quality. Plants are known for improving health and relationships. And they can even boost productivity at work!
